In Travel and Leisure magazine's World Best Awards 2006, Beirut was ranked 9th best city in the world. However, the list was voted upon before the war broke out in Lebanon that same year. Tourist numbers have increased exponentially these last few months. Recently, Lonely Planet named Beirut as ranking in its 2009 top ten liveliest cities on the planet. The New York Times ranked Beirut as the number one place to go in 2009 on its "44 places to go" list of 2009.

Temples Of Baalbek
Approximately 86 kilometers northeast of the city of Beirut in eastern Lebanon stands the temple complex of Baalbek. Situated atop a high point in the fertile Bekaa valley, the ruins are one of the most extraordinary and enigmatic holy places of ancient times. Long before the Romans conquered the site and built their enormous temple of Jupiter, long even before the Phoenicians constructed a temple to the god Baal, there stood at Baalbek the largest stone block construction found in the entire world.
Moussa Palace
The Palace has a special exhibit on Lebanese artwork and artifacts. Mr. Moussa, who built the Palace himself, also created scenes from Lebanese peasant and noble life from past centuries. At the end of the tour you can sit in a real authentic old Lebanese setting and sip bitter coffee, the old style.
A souvenir shop is available.
Location: On the road between Deir-El-Qamar and Beiteddine - Shooff.
Beiteddine Palace
It took 33years to built the Palace of Beiteddine from ( 1789-1822). It comprises 3 parts: the outer area , the middle area and the area of the "Harem ",plus the bedrooms the gardens and the Museum. The palace was for a while the summer residence for the Presidents of the Lebanese Republic
Faraya
The ski resort has 42 slopes and 80 kilometres of groomed tracks. The skiing season in Lebanon is similar in length to that of the Alps stretching over a period of 4 months
